Calvert Hall Lacrosse

Why is Calvert Hall so good at lacrosse, what do there coaches do and why do they have win percentage of 94.76%.

Calvert Hall is one of the best high school lacrosse teams in the world, reason being is because all of
there players have the will and drive to play the game and another big part is there coaches, all of them know the game so well that they are able to teach it and pass it on.

Calvert Hall hasn't lost a game since May, 14 2016, and they have only gotten better and built up their team.

Some of the reasons there such a big winning team is because all of there players play with respect and gratitude towards there school, team, players, coaches and parents.

So I decided to do some research about the team and coaches, there goalie coach Mark Freeman is a professional goalie in the PLL, There defense coach is Bryan Dunn he is also a professional lacrosse
player and there head coach Jim Waters used to be the lacrosse coach for the Duke.

Almost 75% of Calvert Hall Seniors will end up playing college lacrosse after they graduate.

Some people think that they are a good team because they are a private catholic school and they have money and a good field to play on, but all of their players are very dedicated to the sport and the amount of time they workout and practice is crazy, so that helps to being a winning team.

In 2018 the teams head coach Don Harden passed away due to natural causes, today the team wears his coaching number and his initials on the back of their helmets, I also think that because this happened they have more drive and will to win and play the game.

Some of the things that the team really focuses on is, that all of their players are able to understand the game, communicate well and properly with there team mates and coaches on and off the field, they are also don't take things personal from a coach because they only know that the coach is trying to make them better.

One last key thing that I noticed is that all of the players are naturally good and talented lacrosse players and they play with spirit and toughness, so in conclusion this is why i think Calvert Hall has the best high school lacrosse team in the nation.

Student of the Month Story

Who- Jackson Coggins

Jackson Coggins was announced student of the month on February 27th at James Bowie High school.

he won the student of the month award, because he out worked everyone in the running and really put in the time and was very dedicated to his grades and school work.

"My mom was the biggest help and inspiration for me to keep me going and working hard"-Jackson Coggins, Student of the month.

We asked Coggins about his academics and we found out that his lowest grade is a 98 and he has a GPA of 4.5 and has been maintaining those same grades since the start of the school year.

We wanted to know what kept Jackson going and achieving the grades he want and he said "freshman year was the worst year I had ever had for academics, I failed all of my classes and ended the year with a 1.2 GPA, but because that had happen I really wanted to prove everyone wrong and better myself for my future". - Jackson Coggins

All of Jacksons friends, teachers and parents are very proud of what he has done and why he did it.  Jacksons parents never have to tell him to do his work now, when he comes home he gets straight to it.

All of Jacksons teachers and friends had something to say about him, "Jackson saw that he was smart and that he had to just put in the time and effort"- Mr. Parente, "Since the start of the school i have never had him not turn in worksheet, or get a grade below a 90". - Mrs. Madden.

His friends also had some thing to say about his success, "every time I see Jackson he's always trying to figure out a problem or studying for some test, I am happy for him but I feel like it cuts into our free time to hangout".-Trey Elizondo

Jacksons mom is one of his biggest help she's always trying to make sure his grades are in line and getting him to school on time.

We wanted to personally ask Jackson about what he thinks of further extending his education and his response was "Currently i have the choice to go to 6 different colleges and they are Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Brown, The University of Texas, and Penn State.

We wanted to find out what Jackson would say to the younger kids in conclusion to him being such a good student, he said "Success is not an accident, it's hard work and dedication".
